  1. I like Bill Boyd's group from this time period - quite a variety of styles from Western Swing to some hillbilly "blues."

I've not heard a lot of Bill Boyd, but "Spanish Fandango" is a long time favorite, first heard on the Old Timey LP Western Swing many years ago, a starting point for discovering Bob Wills, Milton Brown, and even Harry Choates. For a while I used to wonder if Bill Boyd was the same as William Boyd's "Hopalong Cassidy." (He's not.)
