  1. ACE! I need to listen to more of these shorter works - I tend to lose interest after the first 7 or 8 minutes of most performers' longer jazz improvisations.

    1. Glad you like it. Once magnetic tape and 12" LPs met up, the performers were able to stretch out more, similar to when they played live. Once you get to the early 50s, indies like Blue Note and Prestige weren't issuing singles so much and began to concentrate on long play albums. And then you get that 9-minute "Misterioso". . . .
