Before Roger Miller began to hit it big in 1964 with “Dang Me,” he struggled for several years as a sideman, writing songs for other singers, doing soundalike covers, and the like. Here he is with a very nice version of “Playboy” (a song first recorded by Wynn Stewart), issued as a single on Starday.
